Sarah Shreeves selected as Association of Research Libraries Leadership Fellow

Thursday, September 30, 2021

Sarah Shreeves, vice dean at the University Libraries, has been selected as a member of the 2021-2022 Association of Research Libraries (ARL) Leadership Fellow program.

The year-long program, the flagship of the ARL Academy, brings together a cohort of 20 current and emerging academic library leaders to further develop their skills through engagement with ARL leadership and institutions, as well as shared experiences and training. ARL announced this year’s fellows in September.

Shreeves joined the university in 2018 as a member of the libraries’ senior leadership team and oversees the day-to-day operations of the library system. Before coming to Tucson, she served as the associate dean for Digital Strategies and Faculty Affairs at the University of Miami Libraries. Prior to that, Sarah was the coordinator for the Illinois Digital Environment for Access to Learning and Scholarship, a set of services and collections supporting scholarly communication - including the institutional repository - at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Libraries.

The ARL is a nonprofit organization of 125 research libraries in Canada and the United States that advances research, learning, and scholarly communication. The organization works to foster the open exchange of ideas and expertise, advance diversity, equity, and inclusion; and pursue advocacy and public policy efforts that reflect the values of the library, scholarly, and higher education communities.
