Switching to ArcGIS Pro from ArcMap

Haven’t taken the leap and switched to ArcGIS Pro yet? This workshop is designed for people who are familiar with using ArcMap but would like to switch to ArcGIS Pro or at least become familiar with how it is different or similar to ArcMap. You will orient yourself to the new GUI, dig into symbology and geoprocessing functionality, and set up map layouts. We’ll also briefly cover data management and editing.

This workshop is not designed to teach beginners how to do GIS but is instead focused on helping current ArcMap users successfully make the transition to ArcGIS Pro.

Please bring your own laptop with ArcGIS Pro installed. UA faculty, staff and students can download ArcGIS Pro for free. (You will need both the License File & Installer.)

It is also helpful if you have already created an ArcGIS Online account. UA faculty, staff and students can join the UA ArcGIS Online Organization by logging into www.arcgis.com and choosing the Enterprise login option using uagis.maps.arcgis.com, clicking the University of Arizona button and logging in with your NetID. This initial login will automatically create a new ArcGIS Online user ID for you in the top right corner.

If you are not affiliated with the UA, you can create a free public account or use your account from your own organization.
