Hear from successful women with careers in the STEM field of GIS throughout Arizona and how they prepared for and succeeded in their different professions. Learn hands-on skills for creating effective Story Maps using ESRI’s ArcGIS platform from Geographer and ESRI’s Education Manager, Joseph Kerski, PhD.

Free and open to all. Please bring your own laptop.

What does it mean to have a career in mapping? What skills do you need to get a job in Geographic Information Systems?  Come listen to a series of short presentations from successful women with careers in Arizona’s GIS industry. Hear about the technical skills they use every day and learn about different mapping careers.

ESRI's StoryMaps Workshop
Join Geographer Joseph Kerski (ESRI Education Team) as you explore ESRI Story Maps, which allow you to combine audio, video, text, photographs, and interactive web maps to create powerful stories on any theme from a local to a global scale.  In this workshop, you will create a story map, and combine it with an interactive web map, a field survey, and a dashboard. This four-part combination will illustrate the power and the rich data sets available in the ArcGIS platform.
