Art + Feminism Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon

Learn the basics of Wikipedia editing and improve poetry coverage on the Internet's largest, most popular reference site! The UA Libraries iSpace is partnering with Art + Feminism and the Poetry Center to offer this edit-a-thon. No prior experience editing Wikipedia is required. All you'll need is a laptop (if you have one) and a Wikipedia account, which you can sign up for here (please do this before the event). We will have a limited number of extra laptops on site, and we'll set you up with all the training you'll need to get started on your first Wikipedia edits. Lunch will be provided. If you're planning to come, please RSVP here to help us prepare.

Art + Feminism is a campaign improving coverage of cis and transgender women, feminism, and the arts on Wikipedia. Less than 10% of editors on Wikipedia are women. Gaps in the coverage of women, gender, feminism, and the arts on the world's largest reference site are a problem, and we need your help to fix it. We invite people of all gender identities and expressions to participate in this effort.

For this edit-a-thon, we'll use information from the Poetry Center library catalog to update and expand bibliographies on poets' Wikipedia pages. It's easy, it's fun, and the impact is measurable. Join us!
