University of Arizona Press author David Yetman, a research social scientist at the Southwest Center since 1992, joins us for this year’s annual luncheon. Yetman is an Emmy-award winning documentary television host, well known for his nine-year PBS series, The Desert Speaks, and his current PBS series, In the Americas with David Yetman. His newest book with the Press, The Saguaro Cactus: A Natural History, celebrates the cactus’s prominence as a symbol, the perceptions it inspires, its role in human society and its importance in desert ecology.
