The Phillips Collection contain contains music to 5,000 popular tunes. It is named after Elsie Phillips, the first music librarian at the University of Arizona.
Music titles located in the circulating collection are listed in the library catalog. However, most of these special collections are fragile and irreplaceable music that are non-circulating. These items are not listed in the catalog, but are listed in separate indexes.
Using the Phillips Collection paper index
Items in the Phillips Collection are indexed by either song title or composer in a notebook at the Fine Arts Library. Use the index to look for a piece of music, then record the title of the song on paper. Take this information and a photo ID to the service desk to retrieve your request.
Two items can be accessed at a time. Please handle these materials with care.
