What is it?

Electronic textiles (etextiles) are textile materials such as fabrics, yarns or threads that incorporate conductive fibers or other electronic elements directly into the textile itself. In general, the creation of electronic textiles supports the idea of wearable computing (smart textiles), or electronic devices worked into garment designs.

What can I do with it?

Electronic textiles are used in many products, including athletic garments that monitor your heart rate, fabric keypads for controlling your iPod, and heating products. They can be used to create sensors, LED light displays, biofeedback methods, data transfer systems, antenna, or even midi controlled clothing for your musical expression.
